“By unilaterally imposing tariffs on the entire world, then “pausing” them, then raising the tariffs on China to 145%, President Trump did not cause, but he did trigger, a process that could lead in the relatively short term to the disintegration of the global financial system, which is already on the verge of collapse. This escalation is moving towards “uncharted waters” and risks leading to an “outright financial war,” according to the global head of foreign exchange research at Deutsche Bank, George Saravelos. As a result, a systemic crisis of the global financial system threatens, with the acute danger that the existing flash points of war could escalate up to a Third World War!”

So begins Schiller Institute founder Helga Zepp-LaRouche in the upcoming issue of the German weekly newspaper, Neues Solidarität.

How, then, will the youth of the world respond? Is there some blueprint from the past, that we could adopt, today, to guide the human species through the present global storm, into an age of peaceful cooperation on mankind’s common aims? It couldn’t be–for never before have such conditions existed. We have reached the end, not of a strategic moment, but of an entire epoch of humanity. The financial oligarchy of Wall Street, the City of London, and associated colonial powers, is lurching toward its own disintegration, while the BRICS+ nations and the Global South stake their claims on a better future.

We are not doomed to a tragic end. The “global majority” will accept no continuation of the barbaric colonial age. In the populations of the “collective West” there yet exists a capacity to change axioms, a power that could be awakened by a movement of youth dedicated to bringing about a new paradigm.

Today, what lies before us in potential is the establishment of a new and just security and development architecture governed by the principle of natural law. It is not because we abhor war and genocide, that we choose a world of peace. It is not because we abhor poverty, that we choose development. It is not because we disdain ugliness, that we choose beauty. We reject all these symptoms of an oligarchical system, because of what we affirm–that mankind is inherently good, and capable of infinitely perfecting the creativity of his mind and the beauty of his soul.

We call on youth from every nation to face with courage the true danger of the moment, motivated by a love of mankind. There is no contradiction between being a world citizen and a patriot of one’s nation. Together, youth can intervene on governments, institutions, universities, and their own generation to bring the potential of a new and better order into actuality. Let us refuse to allow the historical moment to slip from our grasp.
