Many Military and security experts have agreed that the destruction of the Nord Stream pipeline can not stand unanswered. Scott Ritter called this the equivalent of an “economic Pearl Harbor” for Germany, and an act of war. We are holding this emergency meeting with experts to demand a response from all responsible parties.
The best way to stop this war, to throw a monkey wrench into the dynamic, is to press for a full investigation of the material presented by Seymour Hersh in his Feb. 8, “How America Took Out the Nord Stream Pipeline.” This is one of the most important steps we can take to move toward a diplomatic solution and stop the war drive! We are very, very close to World War III, and anything which stops that dynamic is super-urgent.
Seymour Hersh is the most senior investigative journalist in the United States, having an unblemished record going back to his 1972 expose of the My Lai massacre by U.S. troops in Vietnam.
Hersh details the lengthy process which started more than nine months ago, and that there was a big debate inside the intelligence community, whether to do it, or not to do it. And President Biden personally gave the go ahead. On Feb. 7, 2022, Biden, during his press conference with German Chancellor Scholz, in Washington, D.C., told the gathered media that if Russia were to move into Ukraine, the United States has ways to make sure the Nord Stream pipelines would be stopped from functioning. Scholz stood there like a little schoolboy, saying absolutely nothing. Then, following the explosion, Victoria Nuland bragged that now the pipeline was just a piece of junk at the bottom of the Baltic Sea. Then, British Prime Minister Liz Truss texted Antony Blinken, one minute after the explosion: “We did it.” Right after the explosion, former Polish Foreign Minister Radek Sikorski tweeted a photo of the explosion, congratulating the United States. It is absolutely the time to have an international investigation, including Russia, because these were Russian pipelines. The United States, the so-called “best ally” of Germany, is blowing up German pipelines, which creates incredible economic damage, driving the energy prices up, making the lives and livelihoods of millions of Germans and others very difficult. It’s an act of war!
This is the same recklessness which is behind the confrontation with Russia and China.
It cannot go unanswered. Join us for this dialogue. Join the chorus to demand an immediate investigation of the sabotage of the pipelines. We are holding this dialogue to strengthen and escalate the drive for a durable peace.
